lyrics

This little nook, just kissed on the head by the afternoon sun
Ripples of velvet like caramel snow
A muted sturdy blanket, a faint summer glow
This is my cup of tea, where I will be if I
Have a few minutes to sit and be me

I stretch my legs long, exhausted from running from searching from fun
From learning from lifting, I feel a bit slow
My shell is lacklustre from too many shadows
This is my cup of tea, where I will be if I have a few minutes to sit and be me

I hear people working, their sounds split the air
But underneath I hear singing, I hear playing and prayer
How could I leave this great mix of sounds that
Perfectly captures the losts and the founds of a
Well-worn life with its ups and downs

If I stay here, just long enough tucked away in my nook
Will I write enough songs to fill up a book
I could lend it to the player that sits just outside
Place it on his stand and without asking why
He’ll just play all the notes and I’ll sing all the words that
Without my nook no one would have ever heard.
